End of Week 10

Hi everyone

Thanks to everyone who came our for the Mental Health at Every Age presentation this past Tuesday night. It was a very helpful and informative session led by our Board's own Dr. Patrick Carney. If you are looking for information on supporting your teen's mental health please visit Caring for Kids. There are great tips and support information available.

Winter weather means the possibility of bus cancellations. Please be sure to follow us on Twitter (@Trinity_Tigers) and monitor news/information radio/tv when weather is threatening. School remains open even if buses are cancelled except in extreme weather conditions.

Midterm reports will be sent home in two weeks so please be sure to get your teens report card. If you have any questions about your teen's progress please be sure to contact the teachers first since they are best-suited to answer your questions and help work out solutions.

Next Friday, November 17th, is our third PA Day of Semester 1. Students are excused from classes that day, but teachers are not! They will be hard at work on conferences and workshops related to student achievement and well being. Watch Twitter (@Trinity_Tigers) for pics!

Reminder from Attendance Office -- please be sure to provide a phone call or note if your teen is away from school for any reason. If a student needs to leave early during the day, a call or note ahead of time explaining the reason, and the times is necessary. This helps us cut down on phone calls and e-mails to you, and the extra work it takes to track them.

With Christmas season approaching we've heard from parents asking what kinds of community support the school will be engaging in. One initiative is The Coppers Cup, a student-police hockey game in support of the Bradford Food Bank. Students are asked to contribute 2 non-perishable food items each in support of this event. We'll also have a puck toss at the game for an autographed Auston Matthews jersey!

Thank you to everyone for following the parking lot procedures. We are still experiencing some congestion in the back lot. A reminder to enter the lot, turn left and make a loop by following the building to its end. If you stop in the entrance cars behind you are getting stopped on the road which causes traffic issues. Please do not turn right or pull up to the doors as this is an emergency access route and must remain free of cars at all times. This includes after school when you are waiting for your teen to come out. Please help us to keep the pick up/drop off as safe as possible for everyone.

Keep an eye on the weather and have a great weekend.

God bless,

Brian McKenzie
