School Day Parent Portal and Mental Health Night
Published on Apr 20, 2017 18:07

Hello everyone,

I hope you had a wonderful Easter with family and friends. Today marks the beginning of Term 2, which means we are half-way through semester 2! Midterm report cards will be coming home in the first week of May.

A reminder that you should have received a personal invitation letter to sign up for our new Parent Portal called School-Day. By creating your free account, you will be able to pay for school activities and events online, receive school news, purchase school swag, and more. Please visit https://www.school-day.com and click the Register button. All you need is the personal invitation code that came in the letter we sent home. If you need another copy of the letter, please call Mrs. Janeiro in the main office (905-775-4841, ext. 180).

To encourage participation we are holding a contest for students. The first full homeroom that signs up will win a pizza lunch party, and we will also hold a random gift card draw for three students whose parents sign up by the end of the month. As well, we will start collecting payments for school trips and events such as graduation through School-day as well. We believe this will greatly simplify and streamline our communications and payment processing which may result in lower costs.

Wednesday May 3 2017 your Catholic School Community Council is hosting a Positive Mental Health for Teens event at the school from 6-8 pm. The evening will feature our senior drama students, who will perform vignettes and monologues about teen mental health, as well as guest speaker Dr. Patrick Carney, Mental Health Lead for the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board. Dr. Carney is the author of

This promises to be an entertaining, informative and enjoyable evening. The first 100 attendees will also receive a hard-copy resource guide to mental health supports and services in the Simcoe County and Bradford area.

God bless,
