End of Week 18
Published on Jun 15, 2018 18:08

Hi everyone

Well, here we are at the end of the last full week of classes. This semester has been an incredibly fulfilling one for staff, students, parents, and high school principals. We have witnessed incredible growth and maturity in one year, and know that the students are heading into their final exams ready for the school year to end so they can take a well-deserved rest.

Summer school registration is ongoing. Students in grades 9-10 can take credit recovery courses here at Holy Trinity beginning July 3 for 8 days. Subjects available include Math, Science, English, Geography, History and Civics/Careers. Please contact Guidance as soon as possible if your teen needs to recover a lost credit from this year.

Full course summer school takes place in Barrie. Students take a bus from HT (at no cost) to St. Joan of Arc for 2 weeks beginning July 9. Again, contact Guidance for options.

Students are writing exams beginning Thursday June 21st at 12:30 pm. All textbooks and school property are students' responsibility and must be returned in good condition. We will bill students for any books lost, damaged or destroyed so please have your teens check under their beds, in their desks, and anywhere else they may have books squirreled away.

Graduation is June 28th at 6 pm. Doors open at 5:30. My own son is graduating that night so regrettably I am unable to attend graduation this year, but Mr. MacFadden, our Vice-principal, will ably step in and handle my responsibilities. I am very proud of all our graduates this year and know great things are in store for them next year.

This is my final weekly newsletter of the year. I wish everyone a restful and enjoyable summer. On behalf of the staff, please know that your teens fill us with joy and satisfaction every day. Yes, they require lots of patience and energy, but they are worth it. We wouldn't be in this deeply rewarding vocation if they weren't.

God bless,

Brian McKenzie
Principal
