End of Week 11
Published on Nov 17, 2017 18:15

Hi everyone,

We have a lot going on over the coming weeks leading into Christmas: sports, field trips, activities, and community events that will make the time fly by. Students may miss some class time so please remind them to stay on top of homework and assignments to avoid falling behind.

November 21 MADD Canada is holding its annual Red Ribbon kickoff at HT. This is a major media event with over 100 police and first responders on hand. HT shares in the MADD Canada vision of no more victims of impaired driving.

November 23 at 6pm we are holding a dance for our elementary feeder schools (gr. 6-8). This is an important part of our transition to high school plan for our elementary students, so if you have kids in the elementary schools encourage them to attend.

November 24 midterm report cards will be sent home with your teen. Please be sure to read and review the information, including Learning Skills and Comments, with your teen. If you have questions or concerns, please let the teacher know.

November 29 is The Coppers Cup, the first student-police hockey game in support of the Bradford Food Bank. Students will bring in food items, and the top raising classes will get to attend the game (there are approximately 300 seats available). This will be a great day of having fun and giving back to the community.

Thanks to all parents for your support with attendance procedures. It makes a huge difference in the amount of time we have to spend tracking students!

As we approach the heart of the fall season, a reminder to keep an eye on the weather. Our Twitter will automatically send weather alerts the day before snow is forecasted to fall. Remember that we are in the South Weather Zone for busing. Except in extreme weather conditions, schools remain open when buses are cancelled.

There is some hairy weather forecast for this weekend, so I pray that everyone stays safe. Drive carefully, and have a wonderful weekend.

God bless,

Brian McKenzie
